Halo Boost
Effective from 26 August 2026
These terms apply to every Boost rental. They form a contract between you and us, so please read them before you start.
The short version.
First 5 minutes free, then £1.50 per 30 minutes. Never more than £7.50 a day, and never more than £22.50 in total.
We put a £25 hold on your card. It is not a charge. When you return the power bank we take only what you owe.
Keep it past 72 hours and the £25 becomes the purchase price. The power bank is yours.
Boost is operated by Halo Service Solutions Ltd, registered in Scotland under company number SC216980. Our registered office is Cartref, Bonar Bridge, Ardgay, IV24 3AR. Our trading address, and the best place to write to us, is Halo House, Gipping Way, Stowmarket, IP14 1GJ. Our VAT number is GB 789204887.
You can reach us at boostsupport@imaginehalo.com.
You need to be 16 or over to rent a power bank, and you need to be using your own payment card.
We cannot check your age at the station, so by starting a rental you are confirming you are 16 or over. If you are under 16, please ask an adult to rent one for you.
Your contract with us starts the moment you tap your card or scan the QR code and take a power bank. The terms in force at that moment are the ones that apply to that rental. Each rental is a separate contract.
Because we start providing the service straight away, you are asking us to begin immediately and you accept that you will not have a 14 day cancellation right once the rental has started. You can end the rental whenever you like by returning the power bank.
Prices can differ between sites. The rate and the daily cap that apply to your rental, along with the £25 figure in clause 6, are shown on the station screen before you take a power bank. Those are the prices for that rental.
There is no timer on the power bank itself, so keep an eye on how long you have had it.
When you start a rental your bank places a £25 hold on your card. This is not a payment. It is money set aside, and it is the most you can ever be charged.
When you return the power bank, the hold is finalised at the amount you actually owe and the rest is released. You will not see a separate refund from us, because we only ever take the correct amount. How quickly the released amount clears depends on your bank and can take a few days.
Return the power bank within the first 5 minutes and the hold is released in full. You pay nothing.
You can only have one power bank out at a time on the same card. If you want a second, return the first.
You can keep the power bank for up to 72 hours.
At 72 hours the rental ends automatically. The £25 deposit becomes the price of the power bank, and it is yours to keep. Nothing further is charged.
Returning it is cheaper. Three days of rental costs at most £22.50, so if you are close to the 72 hour mark it is worth finding a station.
A power bank bought this way is a used product sold as seen, but your statutory rights still apply. If it turns out to be faulty, get in touch.
Return the power bank to any official Boost station and wait for the slot to confirm it is checked in.
Charges keep running until the unit is properly checked in. If a station is full, please find another one rather than leaving the power bank nearby. A unit left somewhere that is not a station has not been returned, and we cannot credit it.
If the slot will not accept the unit, or every station you try is full or out of order, contact us and we will sort it out. You will not be charged for our equipment failing.
While a power bank is rented to you, it is your responsibility. Please:
Fair wear and tear is fine. Deliberate damage, tampering, or loss means we may keep the full £25.
Lithium batteries need a bit of care. Please:
If a power bank is damaged or behaving oddly, stop using it. Return it to a station or contact us, and we will make sure you are not charged.
If a power bank does not work, return it to a station as soon as you can and take another one. If you do that within 5 minutes, the swap is free and you are not charged for the faulty unit.
If a unit is lost or stolen while rented to you, tell us as soon as possible. We may keep the £25.
If you come across one that is not yours, in a taxi or handed in as lost property, just put it into any Boost station. That is all we need. You will not be charged anything, and you do not need to contact us or post it anywhere.
If the hold cannot be placed on your card, the station will not release a power bank.
If a payment fails at the end of a rental, we will try again and get in touch. Until it is settled we may not be able to release another power bank to you. We will not add administration fees or interest to what you owe.
We may decline to release a power bank, or stop offering the service to you, if a unit has been repeatedly kept beyond 72 hours, returned damaged, or if there are unpaid charges on your card. We will tell you why, and you can ask us to look at it again by emailing boostsupport@imaginehalo.com.
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking this contract or failing to use reasonable care and skill. If a faulty power bank damages your device, we will put that right.
We do not limit or exclude our liability for:
We are not responsible for damage caused by your own cable, adaptor, charger, or device, by using the power bank in a way we have advised against in clause 9, or by anything outside our reasonable control.
Except for the liabilities listed above, our total liability to you for any one rental is limited to £2,500.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
If you think you have been charged incorrectly, email boostsupport@imaginehalo.com. Getting in touch within 7 days helps, because the rental data is easier to check while it is fresh, but it does not affect your right to raise it later or to dispute a payment with your bank or card provider.
We aim to respond to billing queries within 5 working days.
We only process the data we need to run your rental and take payment. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, and what rights you have.
We may update these terms. The version that applies to your rental is the one in force when you start it, so a change never affects a rental already under way.
The current version is always on this page and available on request.
If something has gone wrong, email boostsupport@imaginehalo.com and we will try to put it right directly.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
